Joseph Giles - Mid Antique Brass Ceramic with Leather

DESCRIPTION: A hand applied antique effect treatment, which is then sealed with a ceramic coating. To achieve this, the craftsmen apply a chemical treatment which adds a colourant. This process is undertaken several times to achieve the required depth of colour. The piece is hand polished and worked back to the metal to achieve an aged antique look, which is then sealed with the robust coating.

BRIDLE LEATHER: Joseph Giles uses only the finest quality bridle leather for their products, which is applied by highly skilled and experienced crafters in the United Kingdom. Bridle leather is both practical and beautiful. It differs from regular leather as both the flesh and grain sides of the cowhide are treated with greases and finished with wax, making the leather incredibly hardwearing, pliable, and smooth to the touch. Each leather item you receive from Joseph Giles has been stitched with meticulous attention to detail, with a quality that can be both seen and felt.

OVER TIME: Unlike Joseph Giles' signature Mid Antique Brass Waxed (MABW) finish, this ceramic coated version will be kept in its original state, just as it was when it was first hand-finished. The leather will age naturally over time developing its own individual character. Each piece will have varying levels of surface shine depending on the environment and usage.

APPLICATION: We recommend internal usage only for leather finishes, avoiding high humidity areas such as swimming pools and wet rooms.

CARE & MAINTENANCE: Wipe with a soft clean cloth, and if required, a good quality leather cleaner can be used on the leather component.
