Joseph Giles - Railton solid brass door lever handle with square rose

Crafted from solid brass, the Railton lever handle is inspired by classical architecture in the form of Corinthian columns.

It took Joseph Giles many attempts to bring the correct portions of the large structure of a column down to the relatively minute scale of a door handle whilst preserving as much detail as possible. In the final version, they simplified the end of the handle to enable the slender grip and details on the shank to do the talking.

Columns they drew inspiration from can be found at the following London structures: Gibson Hall, the Corinthian portico at University College, and the famous Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square.

The Railton door lever handles are made from the finest grade solid brass and are carefully hand finished in all the standard Joseph Giles finishes.

Joseph Giles locks & latches are available in light, medium, and heavy-sprung options. To ensure the best performance for this lever handle design, we recommend using a heavy-sprung latch.
