LAUNDERING IN THE AUTUMN WINDOW

What can be more soulful than the sight of laundry drying in the garden on a fine autumn day?

What can be more soulful than the sight of laundry drying in the garden on a fine autumn day?  While the trees that line the village streets are shedding their pretty summer coats and preparing for winter austerity, the weather tells another story. Soft sunshine and gentle breezes invite us to shun the dryer and hang our washing outside to dry.

At The English Tapware showroom, the process of laundry is captured in an indoors/outdoors installation with a hint of romantic nostalgia.  A vintage trike speaks of bygone days when washing was hung across every back garden and small children played beneath it.  Leaves have fallen across the scene in shades of red and gold, evoking memories of raking, heaping, crunching…

The Perrin & Rowe Ionian tap with spray rinse in bare brass has been chosen to beautifully reflect the colours of autumn but also as a very functional option for the laundry. A spray rinse is invaluable for rinsing muddy clothes, filling buckets and vases or simply washing down the tub.  The David Moreland pendant light in brass, perfect for a kitchen or laundry, backlights the tableau.
