PLANTASIA BATHROOMS - YSG

Citrus Tones from the Rockwell Bathroomware Collection

Design: YSG
Photography: Anson Smart
Styling: Felicity Ng
Builder: Promena Projects

A fictional diorama nestled amongst rolling hills, Plantasia by Sydney based studio YSG is described as a ‘choose your own adventure'.  Bold colour statements lure the eye from room to room, with the home's eccentric finishes set against the lush, citrus-laden gardens of the NSW South Coast.

In the main bathroom, YSG specified The Water Monopoly's Rockwell bath in Sherbet Yellow and pedestal basin in Willow Green. The brass tapware with Squash Orange crosshead handles gives the space a regal element, elevating it to a state of luxury.

These zesty finishes picnic beneath a cascading canopy of citrus fruit wallpaper, a nod to the rich native scenes surrounding the property. The room is ultimately grounded by the use of organic tiles, found throughout the house to provide a sense of natural splendour.

The ensuite also utilises The Water Monopoly Rockwell pedestal basin again in Willow Green, with matching Rockwell Tapware in brass and contrasting Sherbet Yellow crosshead handles. Botanicals flourish on the walls and ceiling with vivid flora and fauna wallpaper.

Found alongside the basin is The Water Monopoly Rockwell toilet with close-coupled cistern and matching painted toilet seat. Brass flush button details and the same Willow Green colourway is balanced against bolder details such as bright yellow windowpanes and organic blue trim skirting, resulting in both uniformity and dramatic off-kilter tension.

"Mixing eccentric materials with trippy nature scenes, YSG puts a fantastical, Lynchian twist on a home’s lush NSW South Coast location, which makes the familiar seem surreal."
